Plan a Slack action that sends an approved escalation summary to a known channel. Keep message posting separate from reading channel history or subscribing to events.
Slack is absent from Threetone’s native catalog. No Slack installation, event receiver, or live message tool is provided by this guide.

Prepare a message action

You need an approved Slack app, a workspace administrator, and a designated test channel.
1

Limit app permissions

Slack’s chat.postMessage reference documents the chat:write scope. Posting access does not grant channel-history access. Review the app’s channel access and request additional permissions only for a separately justified task. Keep tokens server-side.
2

Bind the destination and content

Use an approved channel ID and, for a reply, the intended parent message identifier. Show the channel, thread, and final text before sending. Remove private conversation details the destination audience should not receive. Review mentions because they can notify people.
3

Define send and retry outcomes

Preserve the returned channel and message identifier when a future request succeeds. A timeout needs reconciliation before another send. Report missing channel access, revoked authorization, and rate limits clearly. Do not change the destination automatically to make a rejected post succeed.
Use auth connections for compatible stored credentials and tool configuration for the proposed action. Your service must enforce recipient review; a prompt alone cannot enforce approval.

Frequently asked questions

No. Reading history is a separate operation with its own permission and data-access review.
No. An inbound event integration needs a separately implemented receiver, request verification, routing, and duplicate-event handling.
