Use this preparation guide to define a Cursor workflow that inspects an agent’s saved configuration and proposes a change for review.
Threetone has no verified native Cursor connector or first-party hosted agent-management MCP service. This page describes integration preparation. It does not provide an install command or a working agent runtime.

Prepare the IDE workflow

You need an approved development workspace, permission to read the target agent, and an owner for any adapter you build.
1

Choose a read-only starting task

Start with reading an agent and comparing its saved configuration with a proposed prompt change. Record the workspace, agent, branch, and version identifiers. Use the committed API reference to determine which reads accept your credential.
2

Review the adapter and credential boundary

Cursor is an MCP client with local and remote server options. Review its MCP documentation before trusting an adapter. Keep Threetone credentials outside repository files and prompts. A server you operate must restrict its exposed operations and permitted workspaces.
3

Separate proposals from writes

Have the adapter return a readable diff before any future write. Require an explicit decision on the target branch and re-read its version to detect stale proposals. If a request times out, inspect saved state before retrying.
The result is an adapter specification and a review procedure. Threetone’s MCP server configuration makes Threetone a consumer of external tools; it does not expose Threetone as a server for Cursor.

Frequently asked questions

No verified first-party endpoint is available. See Hosted MCP for that release boundary.
No. Current tool-management operations reject API-key credentials. Follow the supported tool configuration workflow; do not give an adapter dashboard session credentials.
