User groups organize workspace members so you can review team membership and share eligible resources with several people together. They do not create billing groups or substitute for workspace membership. You need permission to manage groups and existing members to add. System groups and directory-managed or frozen groups are not editable through the manual group controls.
1

Create a manual group

Open Workspace > Groups. Select Create group, enter a Group name, and save it. Choose a name that describes a team or responsibility. Names must contain 1 to 100 characters.
2

Review membership

Open the group’s Manage Group action and review Members. Member selections issue their own add or remove requests. Use Save changes for a renamed group, then reopen it to verify the result.
3

Inspect permissions and resource grants

Manage Access displays currently assigned permissions; it is a read-only view. Use the supported resource-sharing workflow for an eligible resource grant.
The API supports list, create, update, delete, and membership operations. Creation requires an Idempotency-Key. Preserve it when retrying the same request after an uncertain outcome; changing the request requires a new key. Review affected resource access before removing members or deleting a group. A directory badge identifies management metadata, not proof of a complete SCIM deployment.

No. System, directory-managed, and frozen groups have restricted manual controls. Review their management source first.
