# Introduction

> Understand Threetone Agents Platform, its core resources, and the guides for configuring agents and managing your workspace.

Threetone brings agent configuration, knowledge, tools and conversation records
into a shared workspace. Use the dashboard to author configurations and review
resources. Use the public API to connect those resources to your own systems.

## How Threetone fits together

Start with an agent's purpose, instructions and model choices. Add the knowledge
sources and tool definitions it needs. Review changes as configuration snapshots,
and inspect conversation records when they are available.

<Note>
  These guides distinguish configuration from execution. Saving an agent or
  publishing a configuration version does not establish that a channel or live
  conversation is ready. See [current availability](/agents-platform/overview#current-availability)
  before planning a live deployment.
</Note>

## Work with the public API

The API base URL is `https://api.threetone.in`. Send an API key in the `x-api-key`
header for programmatic requests. The [API reference](/api-reference/introduction)
provides methods, parameters and schemas from the committed public contract.

Create and manage personal keys in the dashboard. Follow the
[API-key guide](/overview/administration/workspaces/api-keys) for ownership and rotation, and the
[authentication reference](/api-reference/authentication) for request examples.
