# Burst pricing

> Separate planned burst-capacity charges from subscription allowances and verify approved commercial terms before launch.

Burst capacity is a commercial and operational decision about handling demand above an included allowance. It should state what capacity can increase, which usage is billable, and what happens when a budget or service limit is reached.

## Plan the policy

Record the included capacity, maximum approved burst, measurement unit, rate, and billing period. Define whether the system rejects excess demand, places it in a queue, or permits an explicitly authorized overage. These are distinct behaviors; a price table alone does not implement any of them.

The [planned pricing](/overview/administration/billing/pricing) page contains draft commercial targets. They are not proof of active checkout products, enabled burst capacity, or metered billing. Confirm the approved catalog and agreement before estimating a customer's bill.

## Prepare for launch

Track usage by workspace and the version of the applicable commercial terms. Define warnings and hard-budget behavior, then test concurrency and failure handling separately from billing. Review [call queueing](/agents-platform/guides/call-queueing) and [pay as you go](/overview/administration/pay-as-you-go) as related plans.
